OLAPLEX VS K18 HAIR?

Miami, Florida

Are you struggling to keep your hair healthy and vibrant? If so, you're not alone. Many people struggle with dry, brittle, and damaged hair, which can be caused by a variety of factors, including genetics, environmental stressors, and heat styling. Fortunately, there are two innovative hair treatments that can help repair and strengthen your hair: Olaplex and K18.

Olaplex and K18 are two hair treatments that have become increasingly popular in recent years, and for good reason. Both treatments work to repair and strengthen hair, but they do so in slightly different ways. So here is everything you need to know about Olaplex and K18 and their similarities and differences.

What is Olaplex?

Olaplex is a three-step hair treatment system that was developed to help repair and protect hair from damage caused by chemical treatments, such as coloring and bleaching. The Olaplex system includes a bond multiplier, bond perfector, and hair perfector, all of which work together to repair damaged hair bonds and prevent future damage.

One of the key benefits of Olaplex is that it can be used on all hair types, from fine to thick and curly to straight. It can also be used as a standalone treatment or as a supplement to other hair treatments.

What is K18?

K18, on the other hand, is a single-step hair treatment that is designed to repair hair from the inside out. It works by targeting and repairing the broken keratin chains in hair, which are responsible for the hair's strength and elasticity.

K18's patented bioactive peptide technology works by penetrating the hair shaft and forming a bond with the keratin chains. This bond helps to restore the hair's strength and elasticity, which can be lost due to environmental stressors, heat styling, and chemical treatments. It takes 4 minutes after combing through clean hair and only works when it is not conditioned.

Now, to the big question: Olaplex vs K18: Which one is better?

Both Olaplex and K18 are excellent hair treatments that can help repair and strengthen damaged hair. However, they work in slightly different ways and may be better suited for different hair types and needs.

If you're looking for a more comprehensive hair treatment system, Olaplex may be the better choice. On the other hand, if you're looking for a quick and easy single-step treatment that targets the root cause of hair damage, K18 may be the better choice.

Ultimately, the choice between Olaplex and K18 will depend on your individual hair type and needs. Some people may find that one treatment works better for their hair than the other, while others may benefit from alternating both treatments. Either way, I cannot stress enough that you need to use each product correctly. For Olaplex, use no.0 for 7 minutes, then apply no. 3, then rinse, shampoo, rinse, condition and voila. I’ve heard some people leaving in Olaplex overnight - not a good idea. Unless you are using Olaplex 6, which is specifically a leave-in product. Same counts for K18, as for the K18 leave-in mask make sure you shampoo, rinse, apply the mask and done. No conditioning with this product.

In conclusion, if you're looking to repair and strengthen damaged hair, both Olaplex and K18 are excellent options to consider. With their innovative technologies and proven results, these treatments can help you achieve the healthy, vibrant hair you've always wanted.
