HAIR ACCESSORY SUMMER TRENDS

Whether they’re functional, ornamental, or a bit of both, hair accessories are an easy and expressive way to complete your look. From barrettes to headbands, scrunchies and hats, the right accessory will add personality to any outfit. They are also a great way to hide unwashed hair.

Here are some of my favorite accessories for summer right now. 

I love bejeweled bobby pins for adding sparkle and dimension to your hair. These Jennifer Behr  pins fully embody the idea of jewelry for the hair.  

Bold headbands easily gather and slick back hair and help accessorize. Think Blair Waldorf - in the best possible way. Whether padded, pearled, whatever your style there is a headband for every occasion. My favorite brands are Jennifer Behr and Lele Sadoughi. 

Another fashionable hair accessory that has a timeless appeal and is instantly associated with Chanel is a black bow. My personal favorite is a simple, elegant velvet bow, it’s a chic and minimal hair accessory you simply must get. 

Silk scarfs always remind me of Paris. It has a certain retro vibe which makes me think of classic movies. The benefit of this particular hair accessory is how versatile it can be: There are tons of different looks you can achieve with just one scarf, ranging from super-simple to intricately detailed. And of course nothing beats a good hat, especially if you are having a less than optimal hair day. It protects you from the sun and simply looks cool. I’m particularly drawn to Western hats, I love the wide selection at Kemo Sabe. But I'm also a huge fan of Janessa Leoné.

Some days my hair feels gorgeous, clean and beautiful, other days, not so much. It’s dirty or flat in a way I just can’t be bothered to deal with. That’s when I like to make use of a good hair accessory.
